Sorting out a simply fantastic Friday:

‣ It’s been 20 years since “The Blue Album.” It’s been one month since “Everything Will Be Alright in the End.” Weezer explores all those time passages at downtown’s Belasco Theater.
‣ Speaking of downtown, the Regent Theater [see Thursday’s post] bows with the first day of the Downtown Festival, featuring YACHT, Jerome LOL, Beginners and Sage Caswell.
Warpaint headlines the Echoplex, supported by Avid Dancer and Son of Stan.
‣ At the Echo, it’s Fool’s Gold, Mosco Rosco and GNTLMN at the Echo
‣ Seminal “punk poet” and social satirist John Cooper Clarke performs at La Cita as part of the Punky Reggae night; for Clarke, who came to prominence during the first wave of punk rock and shared the stage with the likes of the Sex Pistols it’s his first U.S. appearance in over 30 years.
Rhye brings its astral R&B to the Cathedral Sanctuary at Immanuel Presbyterian Church.
Manchester Orchestra visits the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery – the Atlantans recently released “Hope,” a “re-imagination” of their latest album “Cope” that features stripped-down renditions of the songs, and the band is out on its “Stripped Down Tour.”
‣ Scottish indie-rockers We Were Promised Jetpacks, who released their third album “Unravelling” last month, do it up right at the Fonda Theatre, supported by fellow Scots the Twilight Sad.
‣ Folk duo Shovels & Rope hold forth at the El Rey Theatre behind their new album “Swimmin’ Time,” supported by Willie Watson.
‣ NYC trio the Kin rock the Bootleg HiFi, with Sophie and the Boms Boms opening.
‣ And U.K. artist Dean Blunt plays Jewel’s Catch One behind his new album “Black Metal.”
