Coachella 2015: Alt-J, murky and mostly forgettable

Who: Alt-J on the Main Stage
In 3 or Fewer Words: Haven’t the foggiest.
Forgettable Because: The irony here is that Alt-J drummer Thom Green was wearing a Bad Religion T-shirt. But unlike the SoCal punk-rockers, who make their living getting in people’s faces, the U.K. quartet prefers to remain consciously obscure, as if to hide the fact that there isn’t much to their digitized etherealness to begin with. They split their 14-song set evenly between their two albums, 2012’s Mercury Prize-winning “An Awesome Wave” and last year’s leaden “This Is All Yours.” On stage, there was a lot of fog and dim lights, and in the field there was a lot of kissy-face being played. It could have been the longest hour ever.
What I’d Tell My Friends Who at Glass Animals: I completely blew it. Completely.
