Punk rock isn’t dead. Post-hardcore isn’t dead. And veteran promoters Kevin Lyman (Warped Tour) and John Reese (Mayhem Festival) certainly aren’t dead. Two one-day festivals — brought to you by those entrepreneurs along with Live Nation’s Rich Best — hit the San Manuel Amphitheatre Festival Grounds in October, each boasting a lineup of veteran bands.

Official announcement of the events is expected Friday, but this much we know:

Taste of Chaos returns Saturday, Oct. 3, after a five-year hiatus, beating a lineup of Jimmy Eat World, the Used, Dashboard Confessional, Thrice, the All-American Rejects, Saves The Day, Glassjaw, the Movielife, Story of The Year, Finch. Greek Fire and Mark Hoppus (DJ set). The day will also offer carnival rides, games and food trucks.

The first It’s Not Dead festival on Saturday, Oct. 10 will feature a punk- and ska-focused lineup including Bad Religion, Pennywise, Descendents, NOFX, the Vandals, 7 Seconds, Bouncing Souls, Anti-Flag, Strung Out, Fishbone, H20, Lagwagon, Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake. Thirty-five bands in all will perform over three stages on a day that will feature an old-school skate/BMX jam, an art exhibition titled, “Art’s Not Dead,” and a “Punks Well Read” book-signing area, the latter two curated by photographer Lisa Johnson.

Ticket for both events go on sale at 10 a.m. June 22 at their respective websites [which as of today had not yet been activated]. Early-bird tickets will cost $25; regular GA is $42.50; and overnight camping options will be available.
