When we lauded Ghostporn’s single “Vivre Sa Vie” back in September, we lamented the band’s name, which was the kind of moniker that turns up interesting things on inexact Google searches, not to mention rather ill-fitting for their intelligent indie-rock. The group, built around the songwriting collaboration of Kenny Carranza and Tasia Trevino, said then they aimed to change it.

Today they announced they would now be known as Dowse. It’s divine. Their first show under the new name will be the Fall Flood Festival in San Luis Obispo on Nov. 15.
