The NYC quartet of Sabina Sciubba, Didi Gutman, Aaron Johnston and Jesse Murphy had promised a new album in 2015, but with the release of the single “The Critic” they announced new music would arrive this year.

Buzz Bands LA’s 7 picks for the week

• Monday: Magic Bronson has new music and the free Monday residency at the Satellite; Buzz Bands LA presents tonight’s installment, which includes Kid Cadaver, Coyote and Psychic Love.
• Tuesday: Dear Boy follows up the release of their killer new single with a headlining show at the Echo, joined by Tower and Teenage Wrist.
• Wednesday: Walt Mink — you probably had to be there for their four albums in the ’90s — reunite for a show at the Satellite., with costumed crazies PPL MVR opening.
• Thursday: Two stellar bands for a good cause at the Satellite — instrumental duo El Ten Eleven and art-punks Sego. Proceeds from the show benefit Rewritten, a nonprofit that runs learning programs for at-risk youth.
• Friday/Saturday: The legendary Van Morrison does a weekend at the Shine.
• Saturday: The Black Watch (belatedly) celebrate the release of their album “Highs & Lows” with a show at the Lost Room (updated with new venue). [See our talk with John Andrew Fredrick from December.]
• Sunday: FOMO Fest 2016 (Fear of Missing Out) brings 14 up-and-coming artists to the Echo, including Bird Dog, Breakfast, Cobalt Cranes, Draemings, Ford Madox Ford, James the Human, Jim & Sam, Miya Folick, the Molochs, Northern American, Prettiest Eyes, Sun Drug and Veronica Bianqui.
