Head Wound City

Head Wound City, the body-shaking dive into grindcore/thrash metal featuring members of the Blood Brothers, the Locust and Yeah Yeahs, will release a full-length album on May 13, more than a decade after they debuted with an EP. That release — seven songs that clocked in at under 10 minutes — laid out the template for their pugilistic punk (and made for a quck, hard-hitting set back at Bedrocktoberfest in 2014), and suffice to say the title for their new album, “A New Wave of Violence,” is no understatement. The quintet (Jordan Blilie and Cody Votolato of the Blood Brothers, Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Justin Pearson and Gabe Serbian of the Locust) have upcoming tour slots supporting U.K.’s Savages, and they’re warming up (as if they need to) with West Coast dates, including tonight in L.A.
