Desert Stars Festival adds Trail of Dead, Sloan (each doing album shows)

Talk about your head-turning lineup announcement: … And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead has been added to the Desert Stars Festival on Friday, Sept. 23, at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown. What’s more, the band will be performing its 2002 album “Source Codes & Tags” in its entirety.

The ninth annual Desert Stars, a two-day affair (also Saturday, Sept. 24) now in its ninth year, had previously made a first-round lineup announcement that included Dinosaur Jr. and Sebadoh.

Notable additions announced today include Sloan — performing their album “One Chord to Another” on its 20th anniversary — and Heron Oblivion.

The opportunity to purchase early-bird weekend passes ($100) ends tonight. Early-bird single-day passes are $65. Tickets are available here.
