Neil Young will appear at the Natural History Museum’s First Fridays event on May 6 to host a listening party for the new album from Neil Young & the Promise of Real, “EARTH.” The album, out June 17, will be broadcast in hi-def in the museum’s Nature Gardens.

“Ninety-eight uninterrupted minutes long, ‘EARTH’ flows as a collection of 13 songs from throughout my life, songs I have written about living here on our planet together,” Young says. “Our animal kingdom is well represented in the audience as well, and the animals, insects, birds, and mammals actually take over the performances of the songs at times.”

The regular program for the night features music from Escondido, Korey Dane and Paul Bergmann, along with DJ sets from KCRW’s Aaron Byrd and JEDI.

Young’s listening party will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Full schedule here.

Tickets are $18 and available here.
