► Mayer Hawthorne kicks off the free Twilight Concerts series at the Santa Monica Pier, with Alina Baraz opening.
► Brooklyn indie-rockers Mitski, along with Japanese Breakfast [both of whom we caught at SXSW], play the Echo. Jay Som opens the night.
► Springtime Carnivore plays a free show titled “Drinking the Sunlight” at Resident, with DJ sets from Katy Goodman and Roxanne Clifford. You might hear something from “Take It, It’s Yours,” the punk covers album from Springtime Carnivore’s Greta Morgan and Goodman, which comes out in August.
► Josh Garrels headlines the Regent Theater, with Propaganda opening.
► Joe Pug visits the Echo behind his latest album “Windfall,” with Korey Dane supporting.
► Athens, Ga., rockers New Madrid hit the Satellite in support of their new album “Magnetkingmagnetqueen,” with Coco Morier joining the fun.
► And the free Music Made in L.A. series starts at the Hammer Museum, with Poolside (DJ set), Carlos Niño & Friends, KCRW DJ Aaron Byrd.
