Austin- and L.A.-based Jamestown Revival made waves in 2014 with the harmony-rich but well-worn folk music on their album “Utah,” which was conceived in a log cabin in the Wasatch Mountains of that state. The duo of Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance hit the blazing-hot desert — specifically California’s Anza-Borrego Desert State Park — to make the the visually spectacular video for their new single “Love Is a Burden,” directed by Paul Pryor. Jamestown Revival’s sophomore album “The Education of a Wandering Man” — the title is nicked from a book by the great Western author Louis L’Amour — was recorded in a farmhouse in Texas Hill Country and is out on Friday.
