SoCal indie-rock quintet Young the Giant played their home turf Friday night like they owned it, taking fans at the Greek Theatre through the emotional highs and lows of their three-album catalog, including their recent third full-length “Home of the Strange.” With Sameer Gadhia alternately tender and fierce and guitarist Eric Cannata shreddin’ and stylin’ in a red coat, the band played all 11 songs off the new album, which was released in August, starting the show with “Jungle Youth” and and latest single “Something to Believe In” and saving highlights such as “Amerika,” “Elsewhere” and “Silvertongue” for the encore. They tied it all together by finishing the evening with their first big single, “My Body.”
