Welcome to the “Land Of La La,” a colorful playground where the members of Sex Stains can kick back, put on some lipstick and throw things at their drummer, David Orlando. Orlando, OG riot grrrl Allison Wolfe, Sharif Dumani, Pachy Garcia and Mecca Vazie Andrews — who shows off some of her dance moves here — clearly had a good time making this video with artist-director Cassandra Lee Hamilton, getting goofy for their song about living in Los Angeles and its delusional enchantments. With its simultaneous vocals and dizzying guitar licks, “Land Of La La” discharges like a merry-go-round spinning off its axis. It comes from the band’s debut self-titled record, a rambunctious collection of 12 post-punk goodies released this past summer by Don Giovanni Records.
