This year’s Black Friday edition of Record Store Day has some eclectic offerings, to say the least. We’ve picked five that pique our interest — including one that tickles our sense of smell. Here’s the rundown:

Prophets of Rage, “The Party’s Over” EP

It’s the vinyl release of the EP from the supergroup of Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk of Rage Against the Machine, Chuck D of Public Enemy, B-Real of Cypress Hill and DJ Lord. Along with the title track and the song “Prophets of Rage,” it features live versions of name-brand covers: “Killing in the Name,” “Shut Em Down” and “No Sleep Til Cleveland.” On 12-inch vinyl, limited to 3,000 copies.

Bishop Briggs EP

The Island Records upstart releases six singles (and a James Supercave remix of “River”) on clear, 12-inch vinyl in a glow-in-the-dark sleeve. So you can find it when she’s singing “Wild Horses.”

The Cars, “Just What I Needed”

A stocking stuffer for Dad? This Rhino 7-inch picture disc is a release limited to 2,000 copies. In other news, the song is 38 years young.

Otis Redding, “Live at the Whisky A Go Go”

Fifty years ago, Otis Redding did a three-night stand at the legendary Sunset Strip room. The highlights are on this double-LP, on 180-gram red vinyl, with original artwork and extensive liner notes and limited to 2,500 copies. Plus the recordings have been remastered.

The Regrettes, “Marshmallow World”

Bing Crosby, Vic Damone, Darlene Love (of the Ronettes) and Johnny Mathis are among the dozens of artists who have covered this 1949 song, which is regarded as a Christmas chestnut. Now these L.A. teenagers do it (with “Hey Now,” recorded live at the Echo, as the B-side), releasing it as a limited-edition (3,000 copies) 7-inch on white vinyl and … wait for it … in a marshmallow-scented sleeve.

If you really want an olfactory thrill, though, best check out Mr. Hankey’s Christmas Classics, which comes on brown, scented vinyl. Not sh*tting you.

Happy shopping, if that’s what you do.
