Like many a Kitten show in the band’s seven-year history, the weekend shows at the Roxy Theatre were like watching an action movie, with kinetic, barefoot frontwoman Chloe Chaidez jumping, crowd-surfing, balancing, mugging, engaging in vocal pyrotechnics, dancing in the middle of the floor and even taking time for a wardrobe change. The band bookended the show with songs that first surfaced in 2010 — “Kitten With a Whip” to start and “Kill the Light” to finish. In between they played two highlights from last year’s “Heaven or Somewhere in Between” EP, “Fall on Me” and “Knife.” They also nailed covers of “Purple Rain” and “Pictures of You.”

Sizzy Rocket opened the night to an already-full room, and MachineHeart followed.
