Just moments after you’ve watched them hand out the last of those 5 1/2-pound Gramophones tonight, I’ll be doing some heavy lifting on the L.A. Buzz Bands Show on KCSN (88.5 FM, streaming at KCSN.org). I’ll start with an “oldie” — a song I first played on KCSN five years ago next week by The Record Company: “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely.” That song eventually appeared on the L.A. trio’s 2016 album “Give It Back to You,” which was nominated this year for Best Contemporary Blues Album (an award won by Fantastic Negrito).

After that little flashback, I’ll segue to new music from the likes of New Mystics, Freedom Fry, People Flavor, Alyeska, Magic Bronson, the Relationship, Mad Revival and Snowball II, along with tunes from artists playing recommended shows in the coming week: Kan Wakan, Steady Holiday, Cherry Glazerr and Brett.

The show kicks off at 9 p.m. Click here to stream the show if you’re out of FM range; the playlist is below.
