The annual free summer concert series this year at the Hammer Museum is embracing Los Angeles’ burgeoning “girl power” movement (GIRLSCHOOL, Play Like a Girl, etc.). Part of the KCRW Summer Nights, the Hammer’s Rebel Rebel series brings a lineup of all-female artists and DJs to the museum’s courtyard every Thursday in July.

The headliners are 19-year-old Portland dynamo Grace Mitchell (paired with not-to-be-missed Wargirl from Long Beach), trip-hop songstress Niia, electronic seductress Elohim and pop experimentalist Amber Mark.

Each of the free, all-ages nights features two artists and a KCRW DJ. The nights kick off at 6:30 and as has been tradition at the Hammer, the museum’s galleries are open until 9.
