Warbly Jets

The big news here isn’t that Warbly Jets have unleashed another trippy anthem that sounds like it came from a British heavyweight of yore. It’s that the L.A. quartet (Julien O’neill, Samuel Shea, Dan Gerbang and Justin Goings) have announced that their highly anticipated full-length album, “Warbly Jets,” will be out Oct. 20. Following last year’s teeth-baring single “Alive” and this summer’s music industry invective “The Lowdown,” the third album track “4th Coming Bomb” feels liberating, melding ’60s psychedelic guitar-pop with danceable rhythms (see: Kasabian). Says the band: “The music mirrors the message. We’re all trying to live and breathe in this world at the same time, not noticing if we’re hurting or helping one another. It works for now, but might explode at any second.” More specifically, singer-guitarist Shea found inspiration in a quote from self-help author Eugene Bell Jr.: “Aspire to inspire before you expire.”
