There’s a new name at the top of the flyer for the Desert Daze festival, and it’s plucked from the second line of last month’s hugely successful FYF Fest 2017: Iggy Pop.

Iggy — along with Ty Segall, Badbadnotgood, Cigarettes After Sex, the Gories and Sleep — have been added to the lineup for Desert Daze, which will be held Oct. 12-15 on the 420-acre grounds of the Institute of Metalphysics in Joshua Tree. Sleep, the Portland-based stoner metal outfit, will be performing their album “Sleep’s Holy Mountain” on the 25th anniversary of its release.

Already announced for the sixth annual event are the likes of Spiritualized, Eagles of Death Metal, Courtney Barnett, Kurt Vile, Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Liars, Tortoise, Emily Haines & the Soft Skeleton and the Budos Band.

The festival also announced that Ian Svenonious (of The Make-Up and Chain and the Gang) will conduct “opening ceremonies” and the lineup for the Mystic Bazaar area of the fest will include Miranda Lee Richards, Entrance, Big Search, Imaad Wasif, throat singer Li Daiguo and more. A DJ set by John Dwyer of Oh Sees kicks off the festival for campers and overnighters. The festival also boasts art installations, metaphysical workshops and dramatic light shows.

Daily lineups have not yet been announced.

Weekend passes are $229 (for GA) to $450 (for VIP) and available here.

Camping is available separately here.
