Video: Soft Swells, ‘Within Reason’

“Older and older and older I get, I can believe that / The tighter you hold her the stronger you get / All within reason,” Tim Williams sings in “Within Reason,” a heartfelt paean to love that endures over time and changes, despite “life spinning as we never saw.” The song is from “Be Young,” released in May, Williams’ celebratory third album fronting Soft Swells.

The video for the song is the work of director Russell Anderson and artist Nicholas DeStefano; after filming against a green screen, Anderson output each frame on different printers (to give them different textures) and sent them to DeStefano, who drew over every frame. The result is a video composed of more than 3,000 images.
