Sinosa

The debut single from Sinosa might be the coolest thing you’ve heard all winter, and by coolest we mean cold and icy. “If U Must Dance” is the work of Sinosa Loa, a member of the long-running experimental pop band Fol Chen. She describes her aesthetic as “conceptual techno,” and in her first single she conceives a dance track that condescends to dancing. Over a minimal beat, Sinosa lectures with vaguely supercilious detachment, recalling the vocals of Mira Aroyo of another band that moved Krautrock into the new millennium, Ladytron. “If U Must Dance” is out now digitally and will appear on a 7-inch via Happy Robots Records, out April 20.
