Twenty-four-year-old singer-songwriter Allie Crow Buckley has spent time in a lot of places with spectacular views. Now based in Malibu, the San Francisco native has lived in Mendocino, New Zealand and Venice Beach, which may or may not lend a certain air of grandiosity to her latest two singles, “Captive” and “You Thought You Had Me.” The dusky wooziness with which she sings “Captive” is more of a feint; having resolved to extricate herself from a thorny situation, she’s simply buying time. “When you’re in a bad relationship feeling trapped,” she explains, “it’s like being on a boat out to sea — and all of your loved ones are ashore waving for you to come back, and you’re yelling ‘sayonara!’ Going through the motions trying to figure it out.”
