Ten ways to get your culture on this weekend, from funny Filipinos, to a live score of “The Phantom Thread,” to a Giant Robot salute to Girls Day, and more.

FRIDAY, MARCH 2

FILIPINO AF (Comedy + variety)

The Asian AF spinoff show Filipino AF returns to the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre Sunset (Inner Sanctum Cafe) on Friday at 9:30 p.m. Hosted by Joy Regullano (“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “Supernatural”), Erich Tamola (UCB Harold Team Mondegreen) and Allyn Pintal (Mondegreen, UCB Maude Team Old Flame), the night features guests performing sketch, standup, spoken word, music, improv and more. Admission is free.

LALUZAPALOOZA (Art)

La Luz De Jesus Gallery opens the 32nd edition of its annual juried group exhibition, Laluzapalooza. The no-theme show features more than 160 pieces from more than 60 artists, including commercial illustrators, graphic designers, tattooists, scenics, students, street taggers, animators and gallery artists. Some of the names are recognizable and other works are from undiscovered, emerging talents. The opening reception is on Friday from 8 to 11 p.m., and the works will remain on view through April 1.

TITMOUSE 5-SECOND ANIMATION (Film)

Titmouse, an animation production company known for shows such as “Venture Bros.,” “Metalocalypse,” “Superjail!,” “Big Mouth” and the feature film “Nerdland,” presents its annual 5-Second Night at the Egyptian Theatre on Friday. The evening gives its animators the change to bring any/all ideas to the screen — funny, beautiful, disturbing — as a short-format cartoon. In addition, Titmouse screens a selection of rarities from its vaults. The program will be introduced by Titmouse founder Chris Prynoski. Tickets: $12. 7:30 p.m.

PHANTOM THREAD LIVE SCORE (Music + film)

After a sellout of the early show, Wordless Music and Spaceland Presents have added a second show on Friday at 11:59 p.m. for the the live score of Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Phantom Thread,” starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Vicky Krieps and Lesley Manville, with music by Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead). The Wordless Music ensemble will be joined by principals from London Contemporary Orchestra, who recorded Greenwood’s original score. The program also includes selections from Brahms, Schubert, Faure and Debussy. Tickets: $39-$119. Doors at 11 p.m.

JAPANESE FOOD FESTIVAL (Food + drinks)

After taking a break last year, the Japanese Food Festival returns this weekend to a bigger venue: the InterContinental hotel in DTLA (Friday from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 1-4 p.m.). Presented by the Japanese Food Culture Association, the fest brings together foodies, food industry pros and exhibitors to sample the goods of more than 50 exhibitors, many of whom are featuring exclusives that are not yet widely available in the U.S. Taste items like temaki sushi rolls, karaage (Japanese fried chicken), ramen, Japanese curry dishes and sake and beer tastings (for adults 21+). The day also features cooking demonstrations and cultural performances. Tickets: $25-$50.

CLASSIC AUTO SHOW (Cars)

Get revved up for the second annual Classic Auto Show returning to the Los Angeles Convention Center (South and Kentia halls) this weekend. From Friday through Sunday, guests can view more than 1,000 collector cars on two floors and participate in family-friendly activities and attractions. One of the special events on Friday night at 8 p.m. is a Movie Under the Cars: “Bullitt.” New exhibit areas for 2018 include Hot Rods, Lowriders, Japanese Classics, Vintage Off Roaders, Women Builds, Porsche and Motorcycles. The show runs noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. General admission tickets: $30 adults, $10 for children ages 4+.

PETER MARS (Art)

Radiant Space, a contemporary art gallery in West Hollywood, presents artist Peter Mars’ first solo show in Los Angeles this weekend. Grrrl Power opens Saturday with a reception from 7-10 p.m. Mars has led Chicago’s pop art movement for more than three decades, and his show focuses on works that depict both “girl power” as well as older works. Grrrl Power will be on view through March 31.

OSCAR WEEK: FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM (Film + Q&A)

The Academy celebrates the nominees of the Best Foreign Language Film category with a program on Saturday at 10 a.m. at The Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Hosted by producer Mark Johnson (Rain Man), chair of the Academy’s Foreign Language Film Award Committee, the event features scenes and a discussion with the directors from each of the nominated films: “A Fantastic Woman” (Chile), “On Body and Soul” (Hungary), “The Insult” (Lebanon), “Loveless” (Russia) and “The Square” (Sweden). Tickets: $3-$5.

MOMO NO SEKKU/ 桃の節句 (Art)

Giant Robot Presents: MOMO NO Sekku/ 桃の節句 a group exhibition that opens on Saturday with a reception at Giant Robot 2 (GR2) Gallery in West L.A. from 6:30-10 p.m. Curated by Mari Inukai, the exhibition opens on Girls Day (Hinamatsuri) in Japan, in which prayers are said for the happiness and health of young girls. Taking on this theme are artists Stella Im Hultberg, Mari Inukai, Audrey Kawasaki, Nicolas Nemiri, Amy Sol, Katsuya ” t e r r a ” Terada, Kent Williams and Yoskay Yamamoto. The works will be on view through March 21.

MAI TAIS ON THE MOON (Party)

Tonga Hut Tiki Lounge holds its spring party Mai Tais on the Moon on Sunday, celebrating 60 years of the North Hollywood bar and the Tikiyaki Orchestra’s 10-year anniversary. The party (and bar) opens at 2 p.m. with a Parking Lot Sale and Art Show. Tonga Tom spins tunes outside and Tikiyaki 5-0 (a smaller combo of the entire orchestra) play inside at 6 p.m.
