Miles Garber, the model who founded Swimsuit Issue with guitarist David Gagliardi (of Trash Talk), describes the band’s sound this way: “It’s somewhere between hot running water and cold running water.” Which fits with Swimsuit Issue’s new single “EP3,” a restless current of hope and regret bulging with Oasis-sized guitars and stadium ambitions.
The smoldering rocker is the follow-up to “Look Now” and another sample of the EP that Swimsuit Issue plans to release later this year. Garber and Gagliardi, who founded the group after meeting at a New Jersey music conservatory in 2016 and bonding over ’90s British rock, have expanded their project into a seven-piece band that impressed everybody in the room when they played Resident in February. The band, which splits time between L.A. and New York, return to L.A. in May.
