Singer-songwriter-activist Goapele, L.A. psychedelic-soul ensemble the Marías and violin and looping maestro Kishi Bashi are among the artists playing this year’s Sunset Concerts series at the Skirball Cultural Center. The 22nd annual affair brings free shows to the Skirball courtyard for six consecutive Thursdays beginning July 26.

The lineup also features the L.A. debut of Ethiopian genre-masher Gili Yalo (which closes the series), South Carolina jazz/African music ensemble Ranky Tanky and Malawian singer-songwriter Peter Mawanga.

The concerts are free (parking is $10) and start at 8 p.m. During the Sunset concerts series, the Skirball’s galleries — including current features “Leonard Bernstein at 100” and “The Jim Henson Exhibition: Imagination Unlimited” — are open until 10 p.m.
