Walker Reinhardt is what you get when Johnny Hanson steps out of everybody else’s shadow. And it’s a pretty great find.

A singer, songwriter and producer, Hanson has worked with the likes Christina Perri, Avi Buffalo, Yellow Red Sparks and Paris Carney’s new project O’neill Hudson (including co-writing and producing the single “I’m All You”). As a touring guitarist and singer, the co-owner of the L.A. studio Nest Recorders (where he also composes music for TV shows) has played aside Perri, Jason Mraz, Demi Lovato, Conrad Sewell, Molly Kate Kestner and Lenka.

Hanson’s alter ego Walker Reinhardt steps to the fore today with the release of his first single “Get Lost,” a radiant Buckleyesque meditation about casting fears and assorted baggage adrift as a means of finding quintessence. “The more you seek / the more you will uncover,” Reinhardt sings as if his slide guitar is pushing him forward. “So jump into the river and discover.” Good advice, of course, and well-dispensed.

“Get Lost” is the first single from an EP or album coming later this year.
