Almost everybody played dress-up Sunday for Beach Goth 7 at L.A. State Historic Park.

Hosts and headliners the Growlers dressed as the Growlers, of course, stylishly and comically ghoulish. And everybody else, including plenty of fans, got into the spirit for the Orange County band’s annual party.

Bleached dressed as the Ramones and covered their music for their whole set.

Heavy metal sci-fi warriors GWAR started their set by beheading the Pope, which was followed by the headless body walking around the dusty mosh pit, covering anyone near the front of the crowd in fake blood. Later, President Trump came out and had a quick fight with one of the band members before getting his torso ripped opened. He, too, sprayed fake blood, to the delight of the crowd.

La Luz dressed as “Beach Goth Boys.”

(Although The Voidz and the Drums settled for dressing as themselves.)

Starcrawler showed they were conceived for festivals like this. Frontwoman Arrow de Wilde engaged in her theatrical and sometimes violent antics (choking herself with the mic cable, firing snot rocket out of her nose that hit a few photographers, crying, drooling, etcetera). Wearing a hospital gown, she leapt off the stage near the end of the set, and into a photographer, and then into the crowd. After crowd surfing for a bit she fell into the pit and laid motionless surrounded by photographers for a minute before springing back up, seemingly attacking anyone in sight on her way out.

Various sightings in the crowd included Jesus, Tommy Wiseau and In-N-Out employees with their logos switched out to read “Beach Goth”). Oh, and the actual Mac DeMarco.
