Thursday night’s Arcade Fire show at Greek Theatre took a surprising turn when the band kicked off the night by playing “Funeral” in full, celebrating the 14th anniversary of their debut record. Currently touring in support of 2017’s “Everything Now,” an album that might not be everyone’s favorite, to put it lightly, fans were beyond delighted to hear their treasured classics, like “Neighborhood #1,” as fake snow rained on their heads. Taking a small break after “Funeral,” the band returned with “Reflektor” with a giant disco ball in tow that emanated lights all over the crowd. Accordion-wielder Régine Chassagne was nowhere to be seen until suddenly she appeared singing at the soundboard accompanied by backup dancers. That wasn’t the only time the band entered the audience, as both Will and Win Butler took several dips into the pool of people. The high-energy show included a few line changes to make political jabs at Trump, such as in “The Suburbs,” singing “And all of the walls they built in the seventies finally fall” to “All the walls they built in 2018 finally fall …,” and so forth. They went a little crazy with confetti during the last half of the show. Most of the audience left with gobs stuck to their shoes and all over their hair.
