Five years ago last week, Scottish synth-pop trio CHVRCHES released their debut album — an anniversary singer Lauren Mayberry acknowledged on Sunday night as the band played to a packed Greek Theatre.

CHVRCHES have had a strong following in L.A. since they first stepped foot in this town, and they were again showered with adulation playing behind their third album, “Love Is Dead,” which was released in May. Mayberry, in fact, noted that the new album was recorded partly in L.A. but kidded that the band “had to leave” because they all spent too much money in record shops around L.A.

Wearing a T-shirt that read “Girls Can Do Anything, Mayberry led the trio through an 18-song set culled from all three of their records, saving their first single “The Mother We Share” (2012) for the encore and finishing with the 2018 hit “Never Say Die.”

L.A. based band Lo Moon opened the night, with frontman Matt Lowell saying they were happy to be “playing in their backyard.” Lo Moon’s self-titled debut was released early this year.

CHVRCHES setlist: Get Out, Gun, Bury It, We Sink, Graffiti, Graves, God’s Plan, Under The Tide, Miracle, Science/ Visions, Really Gone, Deliverance, Forever, Recover, Leave a Trace, Clearest Blue. Encore: The Mother We Share, Never Say Die
