L.A. concerts for Friday:

MC5 founder Wayne Kramer celebrates the gold anniversary of “Kick Out the Jams,” bringing his “MC50” band of Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), Brendan Canty (Fugazi), Billy Gould (Faith No More) and Marcus Durant (Zen Guerrilla) to the Ford Theatre for a sold-out show. Starcrawler and Jason Heath & the Greedy Souls will open.
Courtney Barnett and Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks team up for a night at the Greek Theater, where Waxahatchee kicks things off.
► Now in their fourth decade, Japanese trio Shonen Knife visit the Bootleg Theater, joined by Kim & the Created and Nani at the Bootleg Theater
