Above: Sweden’s Peter Bjorn and John made excellent music long before their single “Young Folks” captured the fancy of young folks (and whistlers) in 2006, and they have made excellent music after. Though perhaps fated to remembered by the one bauble, the trio is nearing two decades as a band, and their new album “Darker Days,” their eighth full-length, finds them still “Living a Dream” (our favorite from the album) — writing smart, nimble pop songs that take the emotional temperature of both their internal and external worlds. As the title suggests, it’s kinda cold. Peter Born and John visit Marty’s on Newport in Tustin on Friday night (tickets) and headline the Teragram Ballroom on Saturday (tickets). Talos and Taken by Trees open.
