Warbly Jets celebrated the release of their new “Propaganda” EP on Friday night in rowdy fashion at the Echo, mixing new songs with favorites from their 2017 debut album.

Represented were all three tunes from the week-old EP — “Cool Kill Machine,” “No Allegiance to the Game” and the title track — along with the 2018 single “Inhuman Emotion” and album favorites such as “Alive” and “Shapeshifter.” They also a sprung a fresh song on the crowd, “1,000 Pounds,” a tune so new that frontman Samuel Shea worked from a lyric sheet.

Experimental band Collapsing Scenery preceded the headliners, playing an intense set from a small stage that set up to the right of the Echo’s main stage.

Blackpaw opened the night with a set of synth-spiked rock, cheered on from the side by George Lewis Jr., aka Twin Shadow, who later posted on an Instagram story touting one of the songs: “Hey guess what – I produced this song – it’s a slept on anthem – ‘Defenseless’ by Blackpaw, look it up.”

Warbly Jets setlist: Propaganda, Cool Kill Machine, Chain Gang, InHuman Emotion, Shapeshifter, Alive, Between the Lines, Fast Change, 1000 Pounds, 4th Coming Bomb, No Allegiance to the Game, Destruction FM, The Lowdown
