Timothy Showalter, the hirsute front-man of post-punk-cum-folk outfit Strand of Oaks, knows something about buzzard luck. Whether it be the grounds for the intimately revealing songs he pens or facing the foibles of showtime technical difficulties, he presses on with flair.

Beating back from a dying amp that revealed itself three-quarters into the opening song “Weird Ways” on Monday night at the Teragram Ballroom, a rattled Showalter found his footing quickly pending a quick equipment swap. The intimacy of the moment only engendering himself more to his fans, an emboldened Strand of Oaks played to a crowd of die-hards singing back in support. Including that opening song, Showalter and his band played seven songs from “Eraserland,” the latest Strand of Oaks album, released in March. The remainder of the set was culled from the band’s breakout album, 2014’s “Heal.”

Though known for their powerful, synth-induced sound it was their quieter songs that were most telling, at times the crowd grew so silent in their focus the sound of bottle caps popping could be heard from the bartenders in back. For true fans, this was a show not to be missed.

Brooklynite indie-rockers Wild Pink opened the show with a distinctly panoramic rock performance.

Setlist: Weird Ways, Final Fires, Goshen, Ruby, Plymouth, Hyperspace Blues, Wild and Willing, Visions, Shut In, Keys, JM, Rest of It. Encore: Forever Chords.
