Festival and special event news:

Baauer and Beats Antique top the lineup for the Same Same But Different Festival, a two-stage music and lifestyle event going off Sept. 20-21 at Lake Perris. Currently, tickets are going for $145 (GA), with VIP upgrades, camping and payment plans available.

■ Agonizingly slowly but surely, Desert Daze is rounding out its lineup for its eighth annual festival, Oct. 10-13 at Lake Perris. Since mid-May, when the Flaming Lips, Flying Lotus and Parquet Courts were announced, the fest has been announcing roster additions one by one via social media. Notable: Dungen, Temples, Connan Mockasin, DIIV, Crumb, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, SASAMI, Shinotaro Sakamoto and White Fence. General admission tickets are still at their “Tier 1” pricing — $259. There are options for VIP, car and RV camping and tent rental as well.

■ This year’s L.A. edition of Lane 8’s This Never Happened Summer Gathering till take place June 29 at Grand Park in downtown L.A. instead of the originally announced location, the plaza at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum. The event, from 2 to 9 p.m., will feature Lane 8 performing a two-hour opening set and a three-hour closing one. The dancefloor, he says, will be phone- and photo-free. Tickets are $39.50 and available here.
