Darkwave fans, get your black on.

Substance, a new two-day event in downtown Los Angeles, debuts Nov. 1-2 with a lineup topped by electronic music icon Gary Numan (marking the 40th anniversary of his first tour) and experimental synth-pop artist John Maus. The likes of Boy Harsher, ADULT., Black Marble, A Place To Bury Strangers and Lust For Youth round out the lineup for the event, the brainchild of Spaceland Presents and Restless Nites, at the Los Angeles Theatre.

“In September 1979 I began my first ever tour around the U.K.,” Numan says of his forthcoming (R)evolution Tour, which will kick off in September in the U.K. before making its way to the U.S. “I’ll be celebrating the 40 years of life, career and touring that have unfolded since then.”

Presale tickets went on sale at noon today. Two-day passes start at $75; single-day tickets are $39.50. General admission tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
