This weekend marks the eighth anniversary of the L.A. Buzz Bands Show on the radio outlet now known as The Independent 88.5 FM, and tonight at 9 p.m. I will sail merrily past the milestone with only a slight nod to the past.

After I kick off the show with the first song featured on the first program back in July 2011, I’ll get into the new stuff — songs from Jay Som, Bandie, Bleached, Tijuana Panthers, Peel’d and Kat Meoz. Not to mention a heaping helping of songs from artists with shows this coming week, such as Will Fox, Sofia Bolt, Hank Fontaine, Tuxedo, PPL MVR, Livingmore, New Language and Turtles on Speed.
