► Cuco plays the first of three sold-out SoCal shows this week, tonight’s at the City National Grove of Anaheim. UMI and Your Grandparents open.
► Common, with the new book “Let Love Have the Last Word” just out and a new album “Let Love” coming in August, visits the Theatre at Ace Hotel, joined by Nicole Bus.
► The Acid (Ry X, Adam Freeland, Steve Nalepa and Jens Kurossa, who are working on a new album) headline the Regent Theater. Get there early for K Á R Y Y N.
► London’s Col3trane headlines the Echo in support of his debut release “Heroine.”
► New Zealand indie-rockers the Beths, whose debut album “Future Me Hates Me” (see the video for the title track) came out last August, visit the Bootleg Theater, with Girl Friday and Ariel View opening.
► And Blitz Vega, the new project from Andy Rourke of the Smiths and Kav Blaggers of KAV/Happy Mondays [see “Hey Christo”], plays a free show at downtown’s House of Machines.
