Slow Hollows today announced that their third album “Actors” will be out Oct. 23 via their own label, Not Another Word. With the news comes the new single “You Are Now on Fire,” penned by Austin Anderson and producer-bandmate Daniel Fox. It’s a shape-shifting soft-rocker that finds Slow Hollows typically weaving between genres.

The album, the follow-up to 2016’s “Romantic,” is described as a group effort, with Slow Hollows’ main men Austin Anderson, Daniel Fox, Aaron Jassenoff and Jackson Katz working with Santigold engineer Will Van Boldrik, Björn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John (on “Get Along”), singer-songwriter Ryan Beatty, Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor and Tyler, the Creator (who helped produce and arrange “Heart”). Between Slow Hollows albums, Anderson had worked with Tyler on the “Cherry Bomb” and “Flower Boy” albums. “It was good to be able to work with Tyler in a different state than his own music,” Anderson recalls. “It felt validating to know that this close friend trusted my ideas enough to help with my own music.”

Of the new tune, which was over a year in the making, Anderson says: “I wanted to write a pop song, but I was really scared of being judged for doing something like that. It’s one of my favorites on the record, because I was scared of it at one point, but I eventually embraced it.”
