This week’s edition of the Twilight Concert series brought an “Aussie Splash” to the Santa Monica Pier. Headlining this time around was Methyl Ethel, hailing from Perth, Australia. Coming to town just one show into their North American tour, Methyl Ethel wasted no time getting the whole pier swaying to their dreamy indie-rock. Dousing the pier in hypnotizing synths and heavy bass lines, Methyl Ethel lulled their captivated crowd into a sense of comfort on a cool night at the beach.

Lila Gold, coming from Sydney on Oz’s opposing coast, opened up the show with vibrant energy. Her colorful attire matched her playful mood as she bounded about the stage and sang alongside her dance, hip hop, and often reggaeton tracks.
