Oyster Kids continue to craft atmospheric, addictive indie-pop, one single at a time, and on Friday the Los Angeles quartet released a new video that gets a little supernatural.

The song, “Give In,” is the third single of 2019 from the band of songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Andrew Eapen, drummer Jonathan Bradley, bassist Robbie Gullage and keyboardist Roy Tanaka. The tunes were the first from Oyster Kids since earning attention for their early work in 2015 and ’16.

“‘Give In’ is a song about accepting yourself, and letting others in,” Eapen says. “I wanted to write something that encompassed my struggle of being vulnerable with my emotions, and how freeing it feels to finally open up to others.”

Director Kamel Allaway’s video, though, suggests that the “others” to whom you open up can be a very select club. It stars Kristyn Allaway, Saida and Sabrina Spiers.

The video, the director says, “follows 3 young women as they trail deep into the wilderness to share their magical abilities in secret. In public they live out ordinary lives, but once hidden away from the rest of the world, they fully express themselves. Although the forest may initially appear as a safe haven for these characters, something dangerous looms in the woods that threatens their lives.”
