“I feel like myself again,” Bethany Cosentino sings on “For the First Time,” the new Best Coast single.

It’s the first new made-for-grownups music Cosentino and collaborator Bobb Bruno have released since 2015’s full-length “California Nights.” (Last year, they released the children’s album “Best Kids.”) Via social media, Costenino says the song is “about feeling comfortable in your own skin and looking at the skin you had to shed to get there and being OK with it all.”

Director Kevin Hayes’ video is set at Eagle Rock locales such as Oinkster and Eagle Rock Plaza and, eventually, a house party with cats (naturally), dogs and friends.

Best Coast’s new album, “Always Tomorrow,” will be out in 2020, and the band has announced a substantial tour starting in late February (local dates below).
