Video: DAVIS, ‘Smash’

For fans of in-your face power-pop, potty-mouthed pop-punk and swaggering rock ’n’ roll with a British tint, the catalog of Davis Fetter is the gift that keeps on giving. Releasing music under the moniker DAVIS, he keeps piling up the singles, occasionally rolling them into EPs (this year’s “Alright” and 2016’s “Crooked Finger”).
“Smash” is his latest bit of audio adrenaline, another 2 1/2-minute rave-up from somebody who’s still a true believer in rock and who knows well that in today’s world that makes him an underdog. The Strokes, the Libertines, the Vines, Jamie T. (and the guitar-slingers that influenced them) all come to mind. Who knows whether “Smash” can be a hit, but it’s certainly a smash.
