The Postal Service’s tour celebrating the 10-year anniversary (and deluxe reissue) of “Give Up” comes to the Greek Theatre for two nights. Big Freedia and Baths open.
‣ U.K. post-punk quartet Savages [see their video for “Shut Up”] play the first of two nights at the El Rey Theatre behind their debut album “Silence Yourself.” Johnny Hostile supports.
Bastille, the U.K. sensations who just announced that their debut album “Bad Blood” would be out Sept. 3 in the U.S., performs at a sold-out Troubadour. Above, Bastille’s video for “Laura Palmer.”
‣ Big night of local music at the Roxy Theatre, where Davis Fetter and L.A.-via-Manchester quartet the Filthy Souls head up a lineup that includes Pilot Touhill and Kid Cadaver.
‣ The Oohlas reunite for their first show in a long time at the Ham & Eggs Tavern downtown.
‣ And Madi Diaz and Carousel kick off a four-week co-residency at the Bootleg Bar, with Phox and Rozzi Crane supporting.
