Grand Park New Year’s Eve to feature Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra, 3D visuals and more

The legendary Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra will be the musical headliner when the free, annual N.Y.E.L.A. Block Party comes to the doorstep of City Hall on New Year’s Eve.

Sponsored by Grand Park and the Music Center, the alcohol-free, family-friendly event will encompass seven city blocks and be capped by the annual 3D video projection countdown on the face of City Hall leading up to midnight. It’s expected to attract around 50,000 revelers and will feature more than 40 food trucks and two stages. TV host Pili Montilla will emcee.

The live music lineup is rounded out by Thee Sinseers and Banda Las Angelinas, with DJ Pauli The PSM spinning in between sets on the Countdown Stage in front of City Hall. Cherry Poppin and Gasolina DJs will spin on the Get Down Stage near Hill Street.

The event runs from 8 p.m. to 1 a .m.
