Director Petros Papahadjopoulos’ video for “Enough for Now,” Ethan Gruska’s collaborative single with Phoebe Bridgers, is a weird little boy-meets-girl story. Armed with powerful leaf blowers, the duo are rearranging foliage in the woods when they encounter each other, and doing their best to keep a straight face, they turn the tools on each other. One could crack wise about having your hair blown back, or one could just enjoy the ascendant denouement.

The tune is from Gruska’s second album, “En Garde,” out today. A departure from his writerly 2017 debut “Slowmotionary,” the new collection experiments in collages of wobbly electronics and vaporous textures. “A little schizophrenic,” Gruska has called it.

Bridgers is one of three guest vocalists on the album, joined by Lianne La Havas and Moses Sumney. (Gruska talked about them and the conception of the album in the Buzz Bands LA interview here.)

In the meantime, we’ll be thankful there isn’t an alternate, B-movie horror version of the “Enough for Now” video where rakes were involved.
