Video: CAPYAC, ‘Dirty’

CAPYAC

Disco-funk party animals CAPYAC aren’t the first artists to fetishize plants — in fact, Brendan Eder takes the cake there — but the Austin-bred duo of Delwin Campbell and Eric Peana do it in a very L.A. way in the video for their new single “Dirty.” In fact, it’s kind of the “Boogie Nights” of plant porn, right down to the fact it was filmed at a house in the Valley.

Directed by David Cole, it’s a winking look into the lives of two rock stars with a dirty secret, and like much of CAPYAC’s music thus far, the song is sleek, Euro and danceable. It’s a perfect fit for a band that left Austin in favor of L.A. in 2017 and have captured the fancy of SoCal crowds with their theatrical, comedic live shows (including last spring’s residency at the Echo).

The single is the follow-up to last year’s “Baby Make Money” EP, which featured “Little Toes,” a collaboration with Annabelle Maginnis.
