Mondo Cozmo, the musical venture of singer-songwriter Joshua Ostrander, have been busy making plans for the follow-up to their 2017 debut album “Plastic Soul.” On Thursday night, though, the band revisited its beginnings, performing a sold-out show at the Hi Hat, where they made their live debut in October 2016.

They debuted one new song, “Mercy,” and ripped through all of their 2019 singles, “Generator,” “Come On” and “Black Cadillac,” as well as came back around to “Plastic Soul’s” first seven tracks. It was a set that begged for singalongs, clap-alongs or bump-alongs, or all three, and it ended with the Madchester-flavored “Automatic.”

Poppy Jean Crawford preceded the headliners with a set of feedback-drenched rock, and Andy Clockwise got the party started in typically boisterous fashion.

Setlist: Black Cadillac, Mercy, Higher, Your Motherf*cker, Come With Me, Chemical Dream, Generator, Thunder, Hold On to Me, Come On, Plastic Soul, Shine, Automatic.
