Adam Bravin

He’s been Prince’s DJ, and he’s been President Obama’s as well. He’s a partner and DJ at one of the most exclusive private clubs in town. He and Justin Warfield formed the dark post-punk act She Wants Revenge 16 years ago and they are still going strong. It was only a matter of time before Adam Bravin would try his hand at a solo project.

Natalie” is Bravin’s first single release. Co-written with his manager and song doctor extraordinaire, Linda Perry, the song is a taster for an upcoming full-length release that has yet to garner a formal announcement. Bravin credits Perry’s magic with helping turn his emotions into words and melodies in a way that he was unable to do before they started working together.

This debut single (mixed by his Cloak & Dagger partner in crime, Michael Patterson) is but one part of Bravin’s overall projected goal, a cumulative work of art that will include music, photographs and moving pictures. “Every song on my album is named after a woman that I’ve had some kind of personal relationship with and that has taught me something about love,” Bravin says. The song and video, “Natalie,” refers to a relationship that ended before he was ready to let it go. “Sometimes we have to make decisions that are better for us in the long run and not think so short-sighted,” Bravin explains. “Natalie taught me that.” The video, the first in a related series, features model and singer Ivy Levan. ”She’s the perfect ‘Natalie,’ strong, sexy and powerful,” says Bravin.
