Iconic punk band X will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their landmark album “Los Angeles” on April 24 with a special show at the Wiltern. The quartet — original members Exene Cervenka, John Doe, Billy Zoom and DJ Bonebrake — will perform the Ray Manzarek-produced album in its entirety.
Last year, the band released remastered versions of their first four records, “Los Angeles” included, via Fat Possum Records. They’ve also made some new recordings with producer Rob Schnapf, with release plans TBA.
Cracker will open the Wiltern show, which is a precursor to an 11-date North American tour in May and June with Violent Femmes.
Ticket for the L.A. show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Pre-sale begins Wednesday with the password: Los Angeles.
