ONLINE FINDS

■ Every Monday at 2 p.m. Pacific, the National are hosting “An Exciting Communal Event” on YouTube. Last Monday, they debuted the concert film “The National – ‘High Violet’ Live From Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM),” directed by D.A. Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus. The show was from May 10, 2010. The 1933 Group, owner of 11 establishments including Highland Park Bowl, both Bigfoot Lodges, the Sassafras Saloon and the Thirsty Crow, is taking a novel approach to fundraising: They’re selling “bonds.” Essentially gift certificates, the bonds are worth $100 in future purchases, and they’re being sold at a discount for $80. DoLA— the popular website and email newsletter that’s a virtual city guide to all things music, arts and culture — is soliciting donations for its staff. Like many outlets who depend on marketing dollars (including this site), DoLA’s revenue has plummeted to zero because of the lockdown. Their plea is simple: help us stay in business.
