Facing insurmountable debt and unable to hold events since March, the DIY creative space Junior High announced in late July that they’ve had to shutter their Hollywood Boulevard location.

Established as a non-profit in 2016, the volunteer-run locale held exhibitions, performances and workshops. Their $80,000 GoFundMe campaign (nearly half-pledged now) will go toward a new space, anti-racist emergency and security training, paid staff and renewed programming.

Here is the updated list of all venues holding GoFundMe campaigns, assistance funds for musicians and crew, and links to petitions to elected officials to vote for the Safe Our Stages and RESTART Acts.

Bandcamp has announced that it is extending their once-a-month fee-free Fridays for all artists on their platform through the end of the year. The company will waive its share of revenues on sales that take place between midnight and midnight on Aug. 7, Sept. 4, Oct. 2, Nov. 6 and Dec. 4.

Tim Presley, the artist and prolific musician with the bands Model American, the Nerve Agents, Darker My Love and, currently, White Fence on his resumé, will release the art book “Under the Banner of Concern” on Aug. 25. It’s a compilation of drawings and poetry that includes work he exhibited last year in Chicago, including his striking black ink drawings. It’s his third such volume. Order it here.

Rilo Kiley will reissue their long-out-of-print, self-titled debut album on Oct. 2. The release, on limited-edition vinyl and via digital, comes via Little Record Company, the imprint founded by bassist Pierre de Reeder. He also shepherded the release of the Rilo Kiley B-sides and rarities compilation “Rkives” several years ago. Rilo Kiley’s original album was available on CDs they sold at shows.
